You probably have a thousand-and-one questions.
Let’s start by answering some of the most common ones we get.
Where do you get the musicians?
Our Nashville base gives Wedding Musicians Company access to a large
community of world-class musicians. We hire players who are recording artists, session standouts, performers and educators. Our premiere musicians are affiliated with Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Middle Tennessee Orchestra, Belmont University Camerata, Nashville String Machine (recording orchestra), and from area universities, including Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb, Trevecca, and Middle Tennessee State. Musicians audition and contract for each event based on their unique musical skills.
Which ensemble is right for me?
Several factors guide the decision. Event location is the main factor, along with personal taste and the style of music you would like performed. If your vision includes a vocalist, we suggest an ensemble based on a keyboard, harp or guitar. If you want an ensemble to perform at both the wedding and reception, we will suggest choices based on your ideas and budget. We can provide quartets, trios, duos and soloists, such as a solo piano or solo harp. Thirty-plus years of booking ensembles for weddings and other important events help us help you find the best and most economical choice.
How do I book the musicians?
We send you a quote that spells out the terms of service and the deposit
required, which is one-fourth of the total amount. Once the deposit is received, we contract with the musicians and send you a confirmation of the contract. The balance is due five days before the event. We take the hassle out of booking Nashville wedding musicians.

Will I need a sound system or amplification?
Certain settings and groups require amplification. For outdoor settings,
especially if the ensemble involves a vocalist, a sound system should be
considered. A sound system is included in our pricing for only one option – a Jazz ensemble with a vocalist. We contract with reputable Nashville audio companies when an event calls for a sound system, and fees typically include delivery, setup, return as well as personnel if needed.
Depending on the setting, individual instruments such as the harp,
keyboard and guitar may require small amplification. If so, the musicians bring their own amplification if needed and additional cartage fees would be assessed.
Will you perform at outdoor events?
Yes, we gladly perform at outdoor events, from intimate to grand. However, the expense of quality instruments (a violin, for example, may cost from $15,000 to $30,000) and the risk of inclement weather, require clients with outdoor events to sign a performance rider. This is to protect instruments easily damaged by extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, exposure to intense sunlight, precipitation and cold. We do not perform when the outside temperature is below 55 degrees.
Will you work with outside musicians?
Yes, we will work with musicians not contracted by our company. This may
require a fee for additional rehearsal time.
What about travel expenses and other fees?
Travel expenses are assessed and quoted for events in areas outside Nashville. Cartage fees may be assessed for certain instruments such as the harp and keyboard, which require additional time to load in, set up, etc. If musicians must travel by car between a ceremony and reception site an additional fee may be assessed. The only other potential fees would involve rehearsal time with outside musicians or additional performance time.
